PCCI CELEBRATES 10 YEARS
OF PIONEERING NEW WAYS TO HEALTH

The Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation is celebrating 10 years of pushing the bounds of imagination by combining data science and clinical expertise to create ways that change the way we view healthcare.

Our founding date, May 14, 2012, came about as a result of a strategic department spin-off, led by Ruben Amarasingham, MD, from the Parkland Health & Hospital System (Parkland). The goal was to give PCCI wings and, while continuing to support Parkland, expand its partnerships and impact more broadly. To date, PCCI has proven that through passion, creativity and resiliency, breakthrough innovation to advance the health of vulnerable communities using data-driven applications and social determinants of health (SDOH) is not only possible but scalable and sustainable.
The next 10 years offer the promise of accelerated, technology-enabled transformational change as we welcome the emerging role of digital health. The digital transformation of health systems, however, is not about the “killer app” that will solve health inequity forever. It is about the systemic, often invisible ways that digital tools and approaches support individuals, communities and health systems in their efforts to dismantle inequities within and across neighborhoods.

For the remainder of 2022, PCCI will be celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary with a number of programs and activities highlighting its successes and future initiatives. For more information about PCCI’s anniversary and how to join its efforts to expand equitable access to care, CONTACT us today.

PCCI’S IMPACT ON PATIENTS, CARE DELIVERY AND THE COMMUNITY

PCCI’s History of Innovation

PCCI Experts Serve the Underserved

OUR BUSINESS MODEL

We believe that data, done right, has the power to galvanize communities, inform leaders and empower people. We also believe that clinical data only paints a partial picture of an individual and his or her specific needs. Our business model focuses on cutting edge uses of data science, social determinants of health and clinical expertise across clinical and community settings.

We collaborate with Philanthropic Foundations, Federal Agencies, Rural and Urban Health Systems, Payers, Local Municipalities, Community Organizations and others who share our common interest in finding the most impactful ways to address the needs of vulnerable populations.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, but know that this is just the beginning.

WE QUANTIFY IMPACT IN FOUR WAYS:

  • making a difference in the lives of patients
  • optimizing how care is delivered
  • advancing the field and
  • sharing our findings

“Many hospitals and healthcare systems have an interest in addressing SDOH,
yet few can claim the positive results PCCI has experienced.”
