The Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation is celebrating 10 years of pushing the bounds of imagination by combining data science and clinical expertise to create ways that change the way we view healthcare.
Our founding date, May 14, 2012, came about as a result of a strategic department spin-off, led by Ruben Amarasingham, MD, from the Parkland Health (Parkland). The goal was to give PCCI wings and, while continuing to support Parkland, expand its partnerships and impact more broadly. To date, PCCI has proven that through passion, creativity and resiliency, breakthrough innovation to advance the health of vulnerable communities using data-driven applications and Non Medical Drivers of Health (NMDOH) is not only possible but scalable and sustainable.
The next 10 years offer the promise of accelerated, technology-enabled transformational change as we welcome the emerging role of digital health. The digital transformation of health systems, however, is not about the “killer app” that will solve health inequity forever. It is about the systemic, often invisible ways that digital tools and approaches support individuals, communities and health systems in their efforts to dismantle inequities within and across neighborhoods.
In 2022, PCCI celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary with a number of programs and activities highlighting its successes and future initiatives. For more information on how to join our efforts to expand equitable access to care,
